Français 6 - Madame Robinson Bienvenue à la classe de français! Welcome to French class! There are four main components to learning a foreign language: speaking listening, reading and writing. We will also study cultural aspects of the French speaking world. Classroom Expectations: 1. Be respectful towards yourself, others and property. 2. Be prepared for class by having your French binder, book and a writing utensil. 3. Be responsible for assigned work – homework, projects and studying for quizzes. 4. Do your best and have fun! Grades: All grades are based on 100 points. They are weighted as follows: Quizzes, binder checks, projects (40%): Each lesson has several quizzes. The material is broken into logical chunks (ie: vocabulary, grammar, culture) then an overall quiz is given at the end of the lesson. Note: To prepare for quizzes, use your: textbook, binder, www.classzone.com and www.quizlet.com. Binder checks will also count as a quiz grade. The binder created in 6th grade is maintained through 8th grade so it is important to keep it in order. Projects will count as one or two quiz grades depending on the project. Homework (35%): The purpose of homework is to practice what we learned in class and it is due the next day. It is generally short and I rarely give homework over the weekend or holidays. If work comes in more than one day late, the student receives a 50. Participation (25%): It is important to speak French and participate in class so we create an atmosphere that is comfortable for lots of practice. The purpose of this grade is to encourage all to make their best effort. Please remember to check your grades online. Grades are usually updated daily.
