Correction: Derek Magsun to produce drawings of church Steps. Subject to the correction the minutes of the last meeting held on 3 September 2015 were approved. All in favour. Matters Arising Clerks report a) Memorials: We need to trace the memorial owners to ask them to undertake repairs. A notice put in Stow Times and tape and calling cards left on wobbly stones. 3 out of 21 have been traced. Next of kin contact details to be collected in future. Will re-advertise next month. b) Ashes/Children’s Area Re- design: David Murphyto approach Fosseway Garden Centre. One baby has been buried in the area set agreed for children. Martin Short thanked the council for facilitating this. c) Church Steps heights /Ramp /Light: Figures to be prepared for inclusion in future budget. d) Removal of Trees in Churchyard: Cllr. CDC approval required. e) Resurfacing Victorian/Fosseway cemetery paths: Figures to be prepared for inclusion in future budget. f) Dry Stone Walls:. Figures to be prepared for inclusion in future budget. Agenda 1. Burial Board Budget The figures for this year’s spend and next year’s budget were discussed and agreed. Projects that have been deferred will be priced up in preparation for future budgets. 2. Cemetery Gate Piers. Three quotes were considered. Resolved: To accept the quote of £2155 plus VAT from Wells Masonry Services to repair the piers as quoted no. 15/181. Proposed CS, Seconded MM All in favour LGA1972 s214(6) 3. Budget Spending. Resolved: To ask for Council approval to spend the £3000 in budget for wall repairs. 4. Budget Spending. Resolved: To ask for Council approval to spend £3000 in budget for tree work. 5. Shrub Removal. Resolved To accept the quote of £810 plus VAT from Cottage Garden Services to remove shrubs on northern and eastern boundaries in the burial area of the Millennium Cemetery. Proposed VD, Seconded MM All in favour LGA1972 s214(6) 6. Dogwood Hedge. Resolved to ask Cottage Garden Services to remove all of the the dogwood hedge and replant with privet. Estimated cost £640 Proposed CS, Seconded VD All in favour LGA1972 s214(6) 7. Broken wall in churchyard. Keith Cox has arranged for the broken wall to be repaired, approx. cost £100. Members agreed that this was a reasonable sum considering the extent of the damage. LGA1972 s214(6) 8. Bins in Churchyard. Resolved: to ask Council to approve expenditure from the Ward Councillors grant for a new bin. 9. Cemetery Regulations: To substitute simpler wording re. stonemason’s professional memberships now to read: We will give permission as long as the work undertaken fully complies with the details specified within the Application Form. All memorials must be erected in accordance with BS8415. Any person removing a memorial to permit a further interment may only do so after informing the Council.
