National League of Cities – Larry Smith reported upon the Conference. In the next ten yers, 80% of the population will be living inside the city. The city provides a variety of different services and a better quality of life. The Baby Boomers are becoming more active now. C. Fort Vancouver National Trust “Christmas at the Fort” – Madie Kozacek invited everyone to this event from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. There will be Christmas Cards to sign, wreath making, and caroling. Visit the website www.nps.gov/FOVA. D. “Forgotten Laos” and “Witness to War” Preserving the Oral Histories of Combat – Mike Burton. Mike is looking for Veterans to interview for video or audio on situations of personnel history during any wartime combat. The videos or audio will be put in the Library of Congress and copies will be available to the Veteran family. Mike is also an advisor for a documentary “Forgotten Laos” to be launched in 2015 on the History Channel, commemorating the 50 th year anniversary. Rifle Firing and Taps – Richard Alvarez Very nice to have in view by the front of the building. 21. Military Vehicles – Jack Giesen Two vehicles in view, very nice! 22. Gymnasium Booths – Don Wilson A little crowded in the hallway but worked out okay. Need to check as to having posters on walls. Should use only Blue Painters Tape on walls. 23. Children’s Program – Peggy Gresham, Anne McEnerny Ogle, and Columbia Credit Union “Wow! What a turn out!” 24. Banners – Marlene Varga Thank you, looked really great! 25. Also should have a sign at the Cemetery for people to come to the Armed Forces Reserve Center for the Ceremony with directions. 27. Iwo Jima Display – Young Marines “Excellent, need to stay in position longer for pictures to be taken.” 28. Benediction – Jerry Keen C. Junior ROTC and the Police Activity League will be joining in the upcoming ceremonies. Meeting closed.
