Meeting called to order by Chairman Larry Smith. Prayer led by Jerry Keen. Pledge of Allegiance
led by Steve Stanley Jr. (Young Marines).

CMAC News & Guests:
A. Veterans Day Parade “Honoring all Veterans” – Cara Cantonwine November 9th Officer’s
Row (Fort Vancouver National Park perimeter). Reception - 9:00AM, Ceremony - 10:00AM,
and Parade - 11:00AM. This year’s Reviewing Officer will be Col. Romona Fiorey. The Grand
Marshals will be Les and Julie Burger.
B. Young Marines – Steve Stanley Jr. In memory of Enrique Camerena, who had a dream and
believed that he could make a better place to live and work, at the age of 37, was murdered by
drug dealers in Mexico. The Young Marines promote drug awareness to our youth in honor of
Kiki Camerena and are asking everyone to wear a red ribbon to fight illegal drug use to keep his
dream alive.
C. USO Portland Airport – (Retired) Col. U.S. Army Joe Williams. It has been a 40 year
absence since the last USO here in Portland. They are planning to have one at the airport center,
which will have food, drinks, TV, and lounge. Several volunteers, such as Home Depot
providing cabinetry, Costco with gift cards for food, etc. They need about $15,000 more for a
total of $120,000 to open the center, hopefully around mid-December.
D. CMAC Christmas Party – December 8th at 5:00PM. Cost will be $10 per person. An e-mail
will soon go out to the members to sign up for.

Veteran’s Day Ceremony – November 11th to be held at the ⃰ Armed Forces Reserve Center. The
Ceremony will be a celebration of all Veterans. Ceremony will be inside along with reception and
displays. Reception starts at 9:45 AM. Ceremony at 11:00 AM Colonel Mark Snyder will be guest
speaker along with Retired Col. Curt Loop, LTC J D Litton, Mayor Tim Leavitt, and possibly
Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler.
A. Cemetery Flags – VFW 7824 and AM Vets will be placing flags at the cemetery on
Fourth Plain by the I-5 Freeway on Friday, November 8th, at 4:00PM and removed on
Tuesday, November 12th, at 4:00PM.
B. Columbia Credit Union and Reserve Officer Training Command (ROTC) would like
to be involved with the Veteran’s Day Ceremony.

5. Set up/take down – Dan Tarbell Layout will be presented at next meeting. Set-up
will be either Saturday or Sunday before the ceremony.
6. Stage – Roy Billings Stage will come from the Friends of the Carpenter. Planning
around 500 chairs this time.
7. Water and Juice – Byron Jacobus (Air and Water Works) & George Golden
(LINKS)
8. Parking and Security – John Hopkins Combat Veterans International and Civil Air
Patrol
9. Sound System – Michael Stacey
10. Media – Madie Kozacek
11. Invitations, Flyers, and Programs – Samantha Whitley Flyers will go out today for
approval.
12. Reception – Marsha Keen and Doris Ruppel (Emblem Club) .
13. Flag Line – John Hopkins Patriot Guards and the CVI will be lined up outside the
front entrance.
14. Honor Guard and Posting Colors – Captain Osterfelt
15. Bands – 204th Band A combo of 6-7 band members will be available.
16. Singer – Rey Reynolds
17. Set up/ POW chair and table – James Mead and Jeff Davis
18. Program Handouts – Jim Czmowski (Young Marines) and Columbia Credit
Union
19. Rifle Firing and Taps –Richard Alvarez Rifle Firing and Taps will be done outside.
20. Military Vehicles – Jack Giesen
21. Gymnasium Booths – Don Wilson

Meeting closed. Next meeting will be November 1st at the 40 et 8 starting 8:30 AM. Breakfast starts
at 6:30AM to show our support to the 40 et 8.
