JOB TITLE:
Inward Investment Executive
SALARY:
£18,000 - £23,000 (depending on experience)

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide administrative and other professional
support to the Invest Newcastle Inward Investment
team with specific responsibility for the development
of client value propositions, day to day team
administration of the ERDF programme, supporting
inward investment projects and coordinating
implementation of the Newcastle Science Central
marketing and communications plan in order to
contribute to the overall teams objectives and
targets in relation to inward investment and
attraction and retention.
This role contributes towards the Supporting Business Growth and Attracting
Investment to NewcastleGateshead and the North East project (running from 1
April 2013 until 30 June 2015) which is part financed by the North East of England
ERDF Competitiveness Programme, European Regional Development Fund
Programme 2007 to 2013. The Department for Communities and Local
Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development
Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European
Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by
investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs. For more

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following list is typical of the level of duties which the post holder will be
expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar
type and level will be required from time to time.
1.
To support the Investment team in managing client projects through the
provision of high quality and compelling client value propositions; company
research and recording of projects on the CRM.
2.
Co-ordination of client visits including developing the itinerary, liaising with
stakeholders and the client and making necessary travel and hotel
arrangements.
3.
To maintain the CRM system and contacts database to support effective
client communications and outreach via marketing communications.
4.
To work in partnership with the officers at Newcastle City Council
(including the councils’ strategic property, finance, planning and economic
development functions) to ensure a highly efficient and professional
response to any inward investment enquiry.
5.
To support the team in the implementation of Newcastle Science Central
inward investment attraction strategy and to take a lead role in planning
and monitoring implementation to ensure it is delivered on time and on
budget.
6.
Monitor and record team KPI’s and provide reporting support as required
to team members for stakeholders.
7.
To work collaboratively with the Inward Investment Team and ERDF
Compliance Executive to help ensure all evidence associated with ERDF
activity is organized and kept up to date to ensure our document retention
is adhered to. This includes, but is not limited to:

Collation of timesheets.

Collation of procurement information.

Collation of receipts and invoices to evidence expenses.

To work in partnership with the staff of NewcastleGateshead Initiative
recognising the synergies between the work of NewcastleGateshead
Initiative and the role of the Business Winning Team. In particular, to
contribute to a good team spirit and play an active role in helping to deliver
NewcastleGateshead Initiative’s broader strategic objectives, including the
management, recruitment and retention of private sector partners.
9.
To work in partnership with regional colleagues and provide information
and data as required by stated governance agreements (e.g. UKTI, NECA,
NELEP).
10.
Undertake any other duties that may be required in order to ensure the
smooth running of the inward investment team and wider organization.
11.
To contribute towards wider NGI commercial and partnership development
targets.

Initiative and the achievement of agreed priorities, KPIs and budget
targets.

Assisting the Chief Executive in ensuring that equal opportunity and health
and safety issues are identified and addressed effectively.
