Borough of Poole Council Meeting 7.00 pm Tuesday 8 April 2008 To the Mayor and Councillors of the Borough of Poole You are hereby summoned to attend a meeting of the Council to be held in The Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Poole, Dorset, to transact the following business:SUPPLEMENTARY AGENDA OPEN TO THE PUBLIC In accordance with Section 100B(4) of the Local Government Act 1072 the Mayor has agreed that the following Motion be considered by the Council as an urgent item: SA1 PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE LIBRARY SERVICE “This Council requires that proposed changes to the Central Library be deferred pending a thorough scrutiny process to examine means of avoiding the action, alternative proposals and alternative means of addressing the declining financial situation within the service.” Signed: Councillors Clements, Brooke, Miss Wilson, Miss Long, Meachin Eades and Wilson I enclose a copy of the Cabinet Minute 1st April 2008 relating to the above and refer Members to the Borough of Poole website where the “Call-in” Scrutiny Committee, 5th March 2008 papers relating to this issue and the Minutes of the 5th March Meeting are published together with the Report to Cabinet, 1 st April 2008 and the response from the Portfolio Holder to the “Call-in” Scrutiny Chairman’s Report. Note: The Proposer of the Motion, Councillor Clements and the Signatories have agreed that consideration of this Motion at the Council on the 8th April 2008 will satisfy their requirements and an Extraordinary Meeting of the Council will NOT be called under Rule 3 of the Council’s Procedures to consider this issue.
