Objective
Since becoming a Verizon employee in 1996 and becoming a Verizon Outside plant engineer. I have had
experience in underground conduit construction, maintenance and design. I have worked with many
underground specialists in the past 16 yrs. John Walsh is one of the Underground specialists I count on to get
Verizon’s underground structure planned, designed and constructed on time and on budget.. We worked
together for many years from Forked River to Cape May.
Experience
Buried residential plant experience

New buried development construction provisioning including small conduit and small utility access holes.
Precise has experience working in cramped right of way and small easement installation were placement of
underground facilities is critical to avoid conflicts with other utilities working in the area.

Precise was responsible for maintaining and repairing underground conduit and direct buried cable in
preexisting developments. Precise has great knowledge of buried developments and the plant equipment
installed in them over the yearsPrecise can have a solution back to a conflict or damage by close of business
the same day. This is a great asset to management were communication between the office and field staff is
critical to maintain customer loyalty and keep all involved parties with accurate information.

Construction of feeder conduit on state highways these are large-scale conduit structures. They often have
more then 20-conduit terminating into large underground vaults. These underground conduits contain many
different materials over the past 60 years of construction. Precise had great success working with state
officials providing service conduit and installing large-scale conduit construction on us highway nine, and
the Garden State Parkway, AC express way, Ac Airport entrance road to name a few.

Ocean County in the past few years has reconstructed Lacey Road, Forked River and West Bay Ave, Barnegat.
On Lacey road, John was able to save or existing conduits by lowering an existing vault and making field
modifications to the existing utility access holes, and conduit systems in the county right of way. This
eliminated to need to place additional copper underground cables and saved Verizon over a million dollars of
plant augmentations. On Bay Ave John was instrumental in the relocation of lighthouse drive and the new
overpass installed at exit 67. John was covering many county jobs under construction with sensitive
construction schedules. John is budget sensitive. He knows how to juggle both the county concerns and
Verizon tight budget constraints.
