Job ID: 146642 Engineer in Training Siemens Wind Power – Service Renewables | UK The Wind Engineer in Training (WEIT) programme provides a ten-twelve month technical and professional development programme designed to develop the necessary skills for graduates across a number of disciplines for positions within Siemens Wind Power (Service). It is a full time position designed to help you create a successful career path within Siemens. It provides a broad based understanding of the entire Wind Service Business though: Classroom instruction and challenging work assignments Guidance from experienced engineers & professionals within the organisation Opportunities to develop close networks for future support Opportunities to analyse, problem solve, make critical decisions and assume high impact responsibilities What are my responsibilities? Operations/Engineering Roles In this role you will work with turbine service and commissioning teams for periods of several weeks at wind farms across the UK. These placements allow the WEIT participant to practice skills learned in the classroom as well as understand the commercial structure of the business. The individual will develop a well rounded understanding of various routine product lines, functional systems/processes used in the technical discipline. Individuals will perform a variety of routine engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and principles. Maritime Role This role is likely to suit a Marine Engineering or Naval Architect graduate, with the ability to transfer skills into our Jackup operations team where you will be a key member supporting the preparation of documentation and approvals for Jackup operations. A full appreciation of MCA and Renewables UK guidelines is desirable. What do I need to qualify for this job? 2:2 or above Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture. Geographically mobile – as on the job placements could be at any of our wind farm locations across the UK.
