The Department of Biomedical Sciences, in the Faculty of Science has a 3 year fixed term
position of a Junior Lecturer (Biomedical Technology) at the Arcadia Campus
Critical Performance Areas
 Lecturing theory and practical’s at undergraduate levels
 Develop relationships with government, industry organizations, professional associations and the
veterinary laboratory industry
 Co-ordinate all Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities for the Veterinary Technology students
 Be involved in further studies towards a Masters degree
 Performing departmental and/or programme related administrative assigned by the Head of
Department
Minimum Requirements:








B. Tech Biomedical Technology
Minimum of 1 year general laboratory experience
Experience in the field of Biomedical Technology
Experience using industry appropriate technology in biomedical technology laboratories
and research
Supervisory skills will be a strong recommendation
The ability to develop relationships with government, industry, professional associations
and the veterinary laboratory industry
Subject knowledge: Clinical Pathology
Registration at the HPCSA as a Medical Technologist in the category: Clinical
Pathology
Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection
instruments.
