W INTHROP UNIVERSITY INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL (IFC) *This application is due by 12pm (noon) on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 to 269 Digs. Be prepared to give a 34 minute speech at the IFC Meeting on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 at 2pm in Digs 223.* Executive Board Roles: The President shall: a) Preside over all Interfraternity Council meetings; b) Be empowered to call special meetings of the Interfraternity Council at Winthrop University his discretion with 24 hours notice; c) Countersign all checks for the expenditures of the Council; d) Serve as ex-officio member of all committees; e) Cast vote in case of a tie; f) Serve on University committees (Council of Student Leaders) as the official representative for the Interfraternity Council. In his absences, the President will choose any remaining IFC member to fill his seat; g) Serve no fewer than two (2) hours each week in the Greek Life office assisting the Greek Advisor and Greek Life GA in IFC operations; h) Attend all regularly scheduled Town and Gown meetings; i) Perform all other duties pertaining to this office or any other requirements that the Greek Advisor deem necessary.
The Vice-President of Recruitment shall: a) Organize promotional tables and materials to attract men to fraternal life; b) Organize monthly IFC 101 informational sessions during the academic year; c) Organize a recruitment committee consisting of representation from each chapter; d) Coordinate a rush schedule approved by the General Assembly; e) Coordinate a fraternal life informational session for incoming freshman during each orientation session; f) Perform all other duties pertaining to this office or any other requirements that the IFC President deem necessary. The Vice-President of Greek Relations shall: a) Promote all IFC activities; b) Work steadily with chapters to plan events, activities, and meetings to promote chapter relations; c) Coordinate all activities with regards to Homecoming, Greek Week, and Member Education; d) Compile a monthly newsletter to be sent to chapter presidents and Fraternity advisors associated with Winthrop University’s IFC. This newsletter shall also be sent out to the Panhellenic and National Pan-Hellenic chapters and advisors, along with chosen University officials; e) Responsible for creating all publications for the Interfraternity Council (flyers, banners, display board, etc); f) Perform all other duties pertaining to this office or any other requirements that the IFC President deem necessary. W INTHROP UNIVERSITY INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL (IFC) The Vice-President of Judicial Affairs shall: a) Serve on the Fraternal Conduct Board; b) Serve on University committees as the official representative for the IFC should the President not be available. (CSL, SOAR, Allocations, etc.); c) Serve as the Risk Management Chair, and maintain and update the IFC Risk Management Policy; d) Attend all regularly scheduled Town and Gown Meetings; e) Attend all regularly scheduled Fraternal Conduct Board Meetings; f) Assist the Vice-Presidents in coordinating educational seminars revolving around risk management, judicial affairs, and Town and Gown; g) Preside over IFC meetings in the Presidents absence. h) Perform all other duties pertaining to this office or any other requirements that the IFC President deem necessary. The Vice-President of Administrative Affairs shall: a) Maintain the official general Assembly Roll and call it at the beginning of each meeting; b) Keep full minutes of all meetings of the IFC. A record of these should be distributed to the attending members before the next IFC meeting; c) Keep documentation of Point System, which includes community service hours to deduct points; d) Maintain a complete and up-to-date file which will include the minutes of meetings, copies of all contracts made by the IFC, current correspondence, copy of the current constitution and bylaws, and other pertinent materials; e) Be responsible for the general supervision of the finances of the Winthrop University IFC; f) Coordinate all activities with regards to community service, fundraising, and IFC sponsored programs; g) Receive all payments due to the IFC, collect all bills, and give receipts; h) Attend all regularly scheduled Town and Gown meetings; i) Perform all other duties pertaining to this office or any other requirements that the IFC President deem necessary.
