September 2, 2015 Issued Call for Assessment Fellow September 11, 2015 Faculty Fellow Doyle Carter volunteered to take the lead with the LEAP Texas Faculty Fellows submitting an application to the DQP Assignment Library for the purposes of sending a LEAP Texas Team to the Charette conducted in New Orleans in February. September 15, 2015 George Siemens participated in the Hub Director Conference Call with Susan Albertine Ongoing Dr. Susan Albertine has initiated all communities of practice for HIPS, Assignments, DQP, GEMS, and VALUE MSC. Our Faculty Fellows are represented throughout all communities of practice. September 22, State Liaison Loraine Phillips and Hub Director George Siemens held a conference call to discuss the Hub Director progress report format and the November Month-long Boot 1 FC Progress Reports 2015 camp, which will focus on digital competencies. Both due September 25. September 28, 2015 Received Applications for Assessment Fellows. Faculty Collaboratives Steering Committee and LEAP Texas Executive Board members will review and evaluate the applications and recommend a course of action to the LEAP Texas Board of Directors. September 30 Faculty Fellow Terry DiPaolo volunteered to work with Tiffany Hearne and State Liaison Loraine Phillips on the Faculty Collaboratives Web presence. So far, we have this: http://leaptx.org/faculty/. More work is needed. Please describe any current challenges you are facing in meeting your FC Project goals: Right now our largest challenge is lining out the structure of our Web site. From the progress we’re making with our Hub Director, it appears that this Web site will be our “Hub.” Continue to discuss Faculty Fellow Activities for both local and national needs. Effective communication across a large state with busy people! Suggestions or Questions for AAC&U FC Staff: We very much appreciate the way that the Communities of Practice have been organized, which is very helpful. For example, one of our Faculty Fellows, Terry DiPaolo, began his academic career in England where Bologna is a mainstay of curriculum planning and review. With DQP origins in the Bologna process, seeing a similar process unfold in a US Setting is illuminating and further articulates the purpose of DQP and Tuning. Thanks AAC&U! And Thanks, Dr. Susan Albertine! If our Web site is our “Hub,” how can we continue to enhance it to meet the needs of both our state and AAC&U? Please update your goals for the next reporting period: Continue to enhance Web site. Identify the Assessment Fellow. Review Faculty Fellow Responses to Questions and Discuss. Prepare for November Digital Boot Camp. 2 FC Progress Reports Submit DQP Assignment Library application in a timely manner. (The Faculty Fellows will have a Conference Call on October 9 at 10:00 to continue discussion on the application.) 3
