Mackenzie Matarelli was our star of the week this week. Her
Grandma was able to come to school to teach the children many, many facts about horses. As we know Mackenzie LOVES horses! Her Grandma was also able to read a story to the class. Her horse, Chris, was supposed to visit, but due to the weather Chris will be visiting when it is a little warmer outside.
We look forward to that! Mackenzie brought many of her favorite horse toys during the week to share with us. We loved her poster of pictures and had a fabulous time getting to know her better!
Fruit loops, Plastic spoons, napkins, and paper plates
A book order came home today. Please return it by Friday,
January 20 th . Please make out checks to Brimfield Grade
School. You can write 1 check for all. Please write your child’s name on your book order when returning it. Thank you!
The 100 th day of school is scheduled for February 7 th . Please begin thinking of a collection of 100 things your child can bring in to show. The collection needs to be able to be transported in their book bags to school. These collections can be sent in any time you have them ready. Thanks for helping. We have been counting to the 100 th day of school since the first day of school. Excitement is building in anticipation!
In the Language Arts center this week we practiced writing uppercase and lowercase M for “mitten”. We then looked for pictures beginning with this same sound in magazines. In the Math center we made a snowman pattern. In the Art center we painted hearts for the next holiday. In the listening center we listened to color words songs. We also had time on the computers working on our favorite website www.starfall.com
.
For the parent activity today we made Valentine creatures for our room and also tissue paper hearts to hang.
Next week our take home pack will be “Happy Birthday Moon” and the nursery rhyme next week will be “Play Days”.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
