Roma grain fed bullocks hit 188c/kg
A total yarding of 566 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday. Steers over 550kg sold to 188c/kg and averaged 160c/kg, while steers in
the 400-550kg earned to 155c/kg and averaged 129c/kg.
Noel York, Yorkaringa, Wallumbilla, sold 110-day grain accredited Hereford steers to
188c/kg for 575kg to return $1083/head.
L & M Price, Mt Hope, Wallumbilla, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 170c for
646kg to return $1100.
G Langton, Poverty Park, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 165c for 592kg to return
$978.
I Jackson, Elavirem, Injune, sold Angus-cross steers to 162c for 694kg to return
$1122.
Heifers over 450kg sold to 120c/kg and averaged 120c/kg, while heifers in the 350450kg N/A.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 136c/kg and averaged 123c/kg, while cows in the 400500kg class topped at 128c/kg and averaged 102c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold to
84c/kg and averaged 83c/kg.
Keddstock, Noorindoo, Surat, sold Charolais cows to 135c for 738kg to return $997.
Glen Fosslyn Grazing Co, Glen Fosslyn, Glenmorgan, sold Droughtmaster cows to
134c for 588kg to return $789.
A & R Scott, Mayfield South, Roma, sold Charolais-cross cows to 122c for 632kg to
return $772.
Bulls over 600kg topped at 170c/kg and averaged 145c/kg.
