Roma grown steers hit 187c/kg
A total of 1745 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 187c/kg and averaged 143c/kg, while steers in the
400-550kg earned to 186c/kg and averaged 143c/kg.
J & N Dingle, Glen Arden, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 186c/kg for
520kg to return $968/head.
J & A Ford, Lewah, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 172c for 682kg to return
$1173.
Heifers over 450kg sold to 152c/kg and averaged 136c/kg, while heifers in the
350-450kg sold to 141c/kg and averaged 114c/kg.
Lyndale Grazing Co, Lyndale, Roma, sold Angus heifers to 152c for 504kg to
return $768 with the consignment averaging 149c for 488kg to make $726.
Whitton Cattle Co, Myrtleville, Injune, sold Brahman heifers to 150c for 451kg to
return $677 with the consignment averaging 147c for 491kg to make $723.
Milton Houston, Lorelle Downs, Yuleba, sold Charolais heifers to 147c for 579kg
to return $852.
R & B Mobbs, Wallambank, Bollon, sold Simmental-cross heifers to 141c for
485kg to return $684 with the consignment averaging 123c for 418kg to make
$516.
R, T, M, & F Miller, North Kooringa, Roma, sold Angus-cross heifers to 131c for
475kg to return $623.
Malcolm Harris, Noondoo, Dirranbandi, sold Angus-cross heifers to 130c for
472kg to return $613.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 142c/kg and averaged 124c/kg, while cows in the
400-500kg class topped at 139c/kg and averaged 96c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold
to 92c/kg and averaged 67c/kg.
G & R Harland, Warndoo, Injune, sold Santa-cross cows to 141c for 584kg to
return $824 with the consignment averaging 126c for 566kg to make $710.
G & A Cartwright, Lucknow, Augathella, sold Charolais cows to 139c for 535kg to
return $744.
