Roma medium weight steers make 185c/kg
A total of 6500 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.
Weaners under 220kg topped at 160c/kg and averaged 137c/kg, while weaner
steers in the 220-280kg range reached 183c/kg and averaged 149c/kg. Steers in
the 280-350kg range reached 185c/kg and averaged 154c/kg, and steers in the
350-400kg range reached 180c/kg and averaged 155c/kg. Feeder steers in the
400-550kg range topping at 167c/kg and averaging 143c/kg.
Rosehearty Grazing, Morago, Longreach, sold Charolais-cross steers to 185c/kg
for 295kg to return $546/head.
Whitton Cattle Co, Myrtleville, Injune, sold Charbray steers to 180c for 330kg to
return $594.
Latrobe Graziers, Norwood, Blackall, sold Charbray steers to 183c for 246kg to
return $451.
Landers Grazing Co, Dalmar, Aramac, sold Santa steers to 160c for 167kg to
return $268 with the consignment averaging 153c for 217kg to make $332.
Canaway Pastoral Co, Canaway Downs, Quilpie, sold Droughtmaster steers to
158c for 330kg to return $523.
R & E Lister, Trevallen, Roma, sold Brangus-cross steers to 158c for 260kg to
return $412.
Bambloom, Richmond Downs, Roma, sold Santa steers to 156c for 329kg to
return $514 and the Santa heifers to 126c for 328kg to make $415.
A & L Raff, Lawton, Surat, sold the lead pen of Angus-cross steers to 148c for
266kg to return $394.
Atkinson Pastoral Co, Katandra, Hughenden, sold EU Droughtmaster steers to
$315/head.
Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 124c/kg and averaged 105c/kg. Heifers
in the 280-350kg range topped at 134c/kg and averaged 113c/kg. Heifers in the
220-280kg range topped at 130c/kg and averaged 113c/kg, while heifers under
220kg topped at 138c/kg and averaged 106c/kg.
D & T Phillips, Injune, sold Brahman-cross heifers to 130c for 238kg to $311.
Cows over 500kg sold to 118c/kg and averaged 107c/kg, while cows 400-500kg
topped at 117c/kg and averaged 77c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 96c/kg
and averaged 55c/kg.
Cows and calves sold to $230/unit.
Bulls up to 400kg reached 158c/kg and average 101c/kg.
