Database Systems Manager (Englewood, CO)
Design, architect, develop and maintain current and future databases, systems and AAA
technology needs of Cellular Service providers with emphasis on optimization to current
architectures, highly available configurations, and new products and services development.
Implement various unique services and carrier grade systems and networking technologies.
Design database and system backup and restore strategies, create a disaster recovery plan and
implement those strategies and plans. Set up and maintain a database replication system and
monitor replication activity. Utilize software and database tools to identify, diagnose, and
resolve complex problems and factors affecting database and system performance. Direct and
perform necessary database and system tuning to ensure that security requirements are satisfied
and all systems and databases are well optimized. Develop and maintain accounting and billing
systems and databases. Focus on service-level assurance and maintenance of highly available
and optimized database systems and services in the global organization.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience.
Employer will accept 2 additional years of database administration experience in lieu of the
bachelor’s degree. 5 years of experience (or 7 years of experience without degree) must include
experience in: database administration, optimization and application development (Oracle and
PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server); design and implementation of database
replication, backup and recovery systems, and SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL,
MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server); AAA development and implementation to support large-scale
ISP mobile cellular service; and design and implementation of network application to control and
monitor 3G/3G/WiFi/PHS network, GGSN/PGW, AAA system utilizing
Java/PHP/C/C++/Perl/Visual Basic. Must have Oracle Database Administrator Certification.
