However, many of these events creat occasions for students to “party” with alcohol and other drugs. This is certainly a high-risk time of the year with participation in prom and graduation. We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to join us in promoting healthy choices for our young people. Our best-case scenario is the encourage our students to avoid situations that can lead to alcohol/drug use. We are confident that you share our concern for the safety and well being of the youth of the Oconomowoc area. We ask your support in the following manner: 1. 2. 3. 4. Do not allow alcohol or other drugs to be present at home parties. Do not allow alcohol or other drugs to be present in hotels or cars. Do provide adequate adult supervision at home gatherings. Do encourage family conversation with specific times and places your teen plans to be from the time he/she leaves home until he/she returns. 5. Do call parents involved to double check the plans to be assured that adults will be present and awake at any post-prom parties and that alcohol/drugs will not be present. The Oconomowoc community has consistently been very supportive with these requests and thank you for your continued support. Prom will be at the Milwaukee Art Museum on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 6:00pm to 11:00 pm. For the safety of the students, a coach bus service will be provided to and from Prom and Post Prom.
