The new ZOOM collection for distributors, tradespeople and architects released in spring 2012 now includes EGGER edging. The company has expanded its extensive product range for fabricators and carpenters. EGGER is the only wood-based material manufacturer to produce both ABS and melamine edging in-house. The company is completing its decor and material combinations, offering solutions for furniture and interior design from a single source. For the ZOOM collection, this means that perfectly coordinated edging in terms of decor, texture and gloss level is available for more than 270 decors. “We are able to offer a seamless appearance and, especially with ABS edging, provide many different versions ranging from extra-thin edging at 0.4 and 0.8 mm (0.016” and 0.031”) to particularly wide edging up to 54 mm (2.13”),” says Michael Beckmann, the responsible Product Manager Furniture and Interior Design at EGGER. “600 versions in total are available from inventory.” ENHANCED CUSTOMER SERVICE In addition to the latest decors and products, the new ZOOM collection also includes more services for customers. myEGGER is the key to accessing this extensive range of services. Once registered under www.egger.com/myegger, users are granted personal access to the samples shop. Here collections, advertising materials, the Virtual Design Studio (VDS) PROFI and samples of all decors and materials in the A4 format can be requested around the clock. This personal section also offers the newsletter “Trend News”, published at regular intervals, as well as all decors available for download. Owners of a ZOOM collection or Leporello can register them here for updates. “Our unique concept of decor and material combinations with an extensive range of services is being met with positive feedback,” comments Philipp Sprockhoff, Director Sales & Marketing EGGER Group in North-Western Europe. “The decision to consistently develop and coordinate products and services from the perspective of users – including carpenters and architects – is proving to be the right strategy.” VDS PROFI FOR ARCHITECTS AND FABRICATORS VDS PROFI is the visualisation software of the VDS family, intended primarily for architects, kitchen manufacturers and carpenters. It allows decors to be designed and presented in realistic room sets. The programme developed by EGGER provides optimum support for decor selection, gives an impression of a room's effect and makes it easier for the end customer to choose decors. 6 PRESS FOLDER BAU MUNICH PRELIMINARY TALKS 18TH/19TH OCTOBER 2012 OCTOBER 2012 Fabricators can design the entire room including flooring, walls, ceilings and doors with VDS PROFI. A library of more than 80 room images from private and commercial applications is available. The intuitive software contains all of the ZOOM decors, a broad selection of wall colours and all decors in the EGGER flooring collections. VDS MOBILE APP EGGER has further developed VDS PROFI with the VDS MOBILE app. Architects in particular, but also fabricators, value the service and benefits of mobile solutions. The free app allows the ZOOM wood-based material collection and all EGGER flooring decors to be viewed on the iPad and enlarged to full-size images. The app also offers automatic updates and the possibility to order samples as well as managing favourites. EGGER is expanding its decor and material combinations with noncombustible, decorative finishing boards in the A2 version. A1 mineral fibre boards form the basis, laminated with EGGER micro-laminate on the front and a balancer paper on the reverse side. The A2 laminate bonded boards meet the applicable fire protection requirements for public and commercial buildings. As part of the ZOOM collection, they are available in six different decors which also allows them to be used as design elements by architects and fabricators. Fire protection in public and commercial buildings such as schools, hotels, high-rises and hospitals is a complex issue, so that choosing the safest products is an important consideration for every builder. Safety is achieved by using non-combustible materials. These are often composite materials where the individual components are certified, but no certificate is available for the finished composite material itself. According to the European DIN EN 13501-1 standard (reaction to fire), building authority requirements for non-combustible construction products specify that the construction products must comply with class A1 or A2-s1, d0. A1 and A2 classifies the reaction to fire. SIX DECORS IN MATCHING COLOURS, IN STOCK FROM QUANTITIES OF 1 UNIT “In cooperation with our partner Akustik+, we are offering non-combustible, laminate joining elements in class A2-s1, d0 certified according to DIN EN 13501-1,” says Michael Beckmann, Product Manager Furniture and Interior Design at EGGER. The non-combustible A1 mineral fibre board forms the core of the joining element, and is laminated with EGGER micro-laminate on both sides. Since the colour of the coreboard is similar to wood, edge coating is not necessary. A2 laminate bonded boards are available from stock in three thickness (12, 16 and 18 mm (0.47”, 0.63” and 0.71”)) and in the formats of 2,800 or 2,300 x 1,260 mm (or 625 mm as the half format) (110.24” or 90.55” x 49.61” (or 24.61” as the half format)) in quantities of 1 unit and up (half format in pairs). The programme includes six decors in the current ZOOM collection: Basic White, Light Grey, Light Lakeland Acacia, Light Ferrara Oak, Tobacco Aida Walnut and Natural Tauern Beech. 8 PRESS FOLDER BAU MUNICH PRELIMINARY TALKS 18TH/19TH OCTOBER 2012 OCTOBER 2012 A2 JOINING ELEMENTS ALSO AVAILABLE AS ACOUSTICALLY EFFECTIVE BOARDS In public buildings in particular, architects increasingly require the combination of noncombustible and acoustically effective materials. This is why A2 laminate bonded boards from EGGER are available in quantities of 1 unit and up as acoustically effective elements as well – also certified in A2-s1, d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1. Select perforations are possible as well as slotting and individual drilling patterns. NON-COMBUSTIBLE LAMINATE BONDED BOARDS New boards on a mineral basis meet requirements for fire classification A2 Stock decors available in the thicknesses of 12, 16 and 18 mm (0.47”, 0.63” and 0.71”) from quantities of 1 unit and up Sizes: 2,800 and 2,300 x 1,260 (625) mm (110.24” and 90.55” x 49.61” (24.61”)) Also available as acoustically effective boards in 16 and 18 mm (0.63” and 0.71”) 9 PRESS FOLDER BAU MUNICH PRELIMINARY TALKS 18TH/19TH OCTOBER 2012 OCTOBER 2012 EGGER FLOORING WITH CONTINUOUS CORK+ AT THE BAU TRADE FAIR LOOK AND EGGER announces extension of the FLOORLINE and LANEO collections with cork+ technology. The EGGER Flooring division is presenting Floorline Superior at the BAU 2013 trade fair. It consists of ten new decors with the continuous look, which will be available in the new “Large” floor board format. Innovative cork+ technology is a second focal point of the trade fair presentation. The classic floor board format has the dimensions 1,292 x 193 mm (50.87” x 7.60”). With FLOORLINE Superior, EGGER is presenting an exclusive new floor board format at the BAU 2013 trade fair: “Large” at 245 mm (9.65”) is around 5 cm (19.69”) wider than the standard floor board. This makes the room appear visually larger and presents decors to their best advantage. It also has a positive impact with the new continuous look of the latest decors. Here the grain seamlessly appears on the next floor board. This creates the impression of virtually endless planks. FLOORLINE Superior complements the latest edition of the FLOORLINE collection for distributors, fabricators, interior designers and architects, which was released in 2011. It encompasses the four design themes of Authentic, New Natural Style, Vintage/Used and Materials, with a total of 60 decors in seven product groups. “We have been highly successful with the launch of the FLOORLINE collection,” says Michael Gerbl, Head of Marketing and Product Management EGGER Retail Products. “In particular, our customers value the convincing combination of design, innovation and service.” For more information on the collection, please visit www.egger.com/floorline. NEW LANEO DECORS IN THE SPRING OF 2013 EGGER is celebrating two years of LANEO and cork+ technology at the upcoming BAU trade fair. They premiered at the last BAU trade fair in 2011. “Our new flooring category with cork managed to convince end customers,” Michael Gerbl explains. This is because cork+ technology meets the expectations of consumers for warm, soft and simultaneously quiet flooring. With cork, another sustainable raw material is used alongside wood. Now EGGER is announcing the extension of the LANEO collection for specialised flooring distributors with new decors in the spring of 2013. LANEO was awarded the “Blue Angel” seal of approval as proof of its environmental credentials. This is because cork is a renewable and therefore environmentally friendly raw material. The coreboard made of FSC-certified wood also conserves resources and protects the environment. Furthermore, the flooring is 100% free of PVC and softeners, and the chosen paints and coatings are environmentally friendly as well. cork+ flooring is produced at the plant in Brilon. This is where EGGER took advantage of its extensive experience with direct printing and developed cork+ technology, 10 PRESS FOLDER BAU MUNICH PRELIMINARY TALKS 18TH/19TH OCTOBER 2012 OCTOBER 2012 allowing decors and surfaces to be applied to the special cork material. The result is a cork-HDF-cork composite. LANEO is distributed exclusively through wholesalers to specialised tradespeople, such as flooring installers and interior decorators, strengthening the sustainability position of specialist distributors. The topic “Building with Wood" takes centre stage in the EGGER product presentation for Building Products at the BAU 2013 trade fair. “The future belongs to building with wood,” Frank Drews, Head of Marketing & PM EGGER Building Products is convinced. “Wood as a renewable raw material and the wood-based materials we produce with it are ideal products for environmentally compatible and sustainable construction.” EGGER believes that the markets for wood construction in Europe as well as overseas will continue to grow in the future. This opens up new areas of application for wood and wood-based materials. EGGER has taken the rising demand for OSB into account by increasing its capacities. The new OSB plant in Radauti, Romania commenced production in January 2012. With a total annual capacity of 660,000 m³ (23,307,680 cubic feet) for the plants in Wismar and Radauti, availability has been significantly improved. EBP continues to expand its distributor product range for structural applications. This means even better material availability for distributors and wood construction companies in the future. Structural wood from the sawmill in Brilon (Germany) as well as the wood-based material OSB and vapour permeable wood fibreboard (DHF) for roof and exterior wall cladding from Wismar (Germany) are key components of the product range. With EUROSTRAND OSB 4 TOP, EGGER offers a board suitable for wood construction. Thanks to high product quality guaranteed by building authority approval and monitoring, OSB 4 TOP offers all planners and fabricators the security they require for demanding construction projects in regards to load bearing capacity, reaction to fire and impermeability to air. The EUROSTRAND OSB delivery programme with the OSB 4 TOP wood construction board and OSB 3 E0 as the standard building board was significantly expanded in autumn 2012 with a greater variety of formats. Numerous tested system solutions can be realised along with the DHF board and structural wood. In addition to structural wood for the load-bearing structure, EGGER is expanding its offering of timber and planed wood at the sawmill in Brilon. In particular, this includes kiln dried slats for roof and dry construction applications. ADVICE FOR USERS In addition to its products, EGGER also offers application technology consulting for wood construction companies and planners. Experts are available to provide information on how wood-based materials can be applied to wood construction and their advantages. 12 PRESS FOLDER BAU MUNICH PRELIMINARY TALKS 18TH/19TH OCTOBER 2012 OCTOBER 2012 EGGER is also offering the EGGER Innovative training programme for planners and fabricators in wood construction once again this year. The topic of “Reinforcing Panels according to EC5” is being presented by Prof. Colling over the course of four events until March 2013. The first event in St. Johann in October 2012 is fully booked already. Anyone from the field of wood construction and all interested planners can attend on the following dates: Ostfildern (DE) on 30th November/1st December 2012 (deadline for registration: 19th October 2012), Wismar (DE) on 1st/2nd February 2013 (deadline for registration: 21st December 2012), Brilon (DE) on 22nd/23rd March 2013 (deadline for registration: 8th February 2013).
