Bibb County Board of Education met for Student Disciplinary Hearings on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Office.
The meeting was called to order by President, Mike Oakley.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to go into Executive Session for good name and character – Student Disciplinary Hearings. Mrs. Dailey
seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to come out of Executive Session. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
BOARD MEETING
5:00 P.M.
Board President Mr. Mike Oakley called the Board into a Regular Session for Board business.
The Invocation was given by Mrs. Jones followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mr. McMillan.
Roll Call was conducted by President, Mike Oakley:

Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve the agenda. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve Minutes from March 10 & March 26, 2015 Board meetings. Mr. Moody seconded the
motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve Bills for March 2015. Mr. Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
March 2015 Financials and Bank Reconciliations were received.
West Blocton High School Parents expressed some concerns towards the band program. A committee will be formed to look
into possible changes in the program. The committee will consist of Billie Dailey, Morris Moody, Mr. Alston, Mr. Terry Lawley, Mr. Dwight
Caddell and Mr. Brian Lowe as well as one parent from each high school.
Mr. Oscar Mims, Maintenance Director reported on the following:
1. Bleachers – Centreville Middle and West Blocton High will purchase bleachers.
2. Woodstock Elementary School – awnings . Mrs. Dailey made a motion to bid for awnings to be placed at the school and
for the work to be done in sections as finances will allow. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
3. West Blocton Middle School – termite issue. Mr. Moody made a motion to spot treat a section of the school gym floor
damaged by termites. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to expel student Q.E. for the rest of the 2014-2015 school year and to include the 1st semester of
the 2015-2016 school year. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to reassign student S.B. to the Bibb County Alternative School for the remainder of the 2014-2015
school year. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to reassign student T.R. to the Bibb County Alternative School for the remainder of the 2014-2015
school year and to include the 1st semester of the 2015-2016 school year. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to expel student L.C. for the remainder of the 2014-2015 school year and to include the 1st semester
of the 2015-2016 school year. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve the price increase of a paid student lunch meal from $2.35 to $2.45 per USDA Paid
Lunch Equity Requirements. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve the increase of Bibb County Schools Employee lunch price from $3.00 to $3.10 per USDA
Paid Lunch Equity Requirements. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to approve stipend for Teachers attending professional development training during June & July,
2015. Payment of $125 per day will be paid from West Blocton High Title I or II funds. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve payment to John Simmer as consultant for professional development training, Using
Ipads in the Classroom, held at Bibb County Career Academy, on June 4, 2015. Payment of $200 for the half day training will be paid
from school local funds. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve a stipend for Bibb County Career Academy teachers attending Using Ipads in the
Classroom workshop on June 4, 2015. Payment of $75 will be paid from school local funds to BCCA teachers not otherwise on extended
contract or using the FLEX option. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve payment to Janet Bishop as consultant to present workshop on Spanish for Educators, June
9, 2015. Payment of $300 consulting fee and expenses will be made from Title I or II funds. Mr. Moody seconded the motion which
passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve payment of stipend of $100 to be paid to attendees of Spanish for Educators workshop on
June 9, 2015. Payment will be made from Title I or II funds. Mr. McMillan seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. Moody made a motion to approve payment of stipend of $100 to be paid to attendees of Math Teacher Leader Workshop on
July 15, 2015. Payment will be made from Title I or II funds. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve payment of stipend of $100 to be paid to attendees of New Teacher Mentor Workshop on
July 30, 2015. Payment will be made from Title I or II funds. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mr. McMillan made a motion to approve payment of 3 Continuation Grant Funds to Co-Directors of Community Education, Susan
Young and Alesa Judd. Payment of $3,750.00 will be made from Community Education Grant Funds for work in year 3 grant activities.
Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve contracting with Dr. Mike Goodman at his previous daily rate of pay to serve as School
District Psychologist for a period of 37 days. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve payment to Cindy Belcher as consultant to present one day of in service training to the
Child Nutrition Program staff on August 4, 2015. Payment of $1150.00 will be paid from child nutrition funds. Mrs. Dailey seconded the
motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to approve the resignation of Reid Abel, 6th Grade Special Education Teacher, Centreville Middle
School. Effective date: End of 2014-2015 school year. Mr. Moody seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Mrs. Jones made a motion to approve Jessica Palmer as volunteer with Bibb County High School band. Background
requirements met. Mrs. Dailey seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Next Board Meeting, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 5:00 p.m.
Mrs. Dailey made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m. Mrs. Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
We the undersigned, being all of the Bibb County Board of Education in attendance of the April14, 2015 Board Meeting, at which time a
quorum was present and voting do hereby sign these minutes of the within and foregoing meeting to things had and done at said
meeting.
