Montessori del Mundo is a public Dual Language Montessori charter school serving just over 200 students in PreK-3nd grade. The school is located at 15503 B E Mississippi Ave, Aurora CO. Montessori del Mundo follows the Montessori philosophy and curriculum and uses a research-based dual language model with the goal of bilingualism and biliteracy for all students. Academic instruction is in both Spanish and English to prepare students for the bilingual world of the future. Role of the Bilingual Reading Interventionist: This is a full-time position that works with the primary and lower elementary team. The person in this position is responsible for: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Reading / writing intervention groups in Spanish or English for any child who is 0.5 years below the grade level benchmark. Works very closely with the team to ensure that intervention work is supporting what is being done in the classroom. Collects and maintains a list of additional academic supports the parents can seek outside of the school day. Is responsible for our stop-lighting efforts and looking at all kids academically in reading and in math at the end of each quarter. Supports in the Spanish & English academic testing for kids being evaluated for IEPs. Supports in coordinating all testing such as MAPS, STAR, EDL and DRA. Lead skill transfer test prep sessions with third-graders two times per week 30 mins per session. Writes, implements, and maintains all READ Act information and plans. Qualifications: ● Professional and Academic fluency in Spanish and English ● Strong communication skills in written and spoken Spanish and English ● Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; Special Education Preferred ● Preferred experience in reading and writing development ● Preferred previous experience in data management and state reporting ● Previous teaching in primary and/or lower elementary classrooms required ● Open-minded and person-first approach to working with children and parents ● Highly organized and detail oriented ● Experience with and passion for working with a diverse group of young children, families, and staff ● Flexible, able to prioritize in high pressure situations, exceptional communication skills ● Desire to learn and grow as a professional; openness to feedback, collaboration, and compromise Application: Please send your resume and cover letter to info@montessoridelmundo.org.
