What garbage ID types included in bid?
A
The solid waste contract will be for collection of type 10 and type 13 waste.
Q
Who will transport containers.
A
Page 7 of the specifications concerns roll off service. The successful contractor will pick
up and drop off containers, as well as transport to transfer station. The frequency is
approximately once per month.
Q
Are commercial and business sources entitled to recycling collection.
A
There are a limited number of commercial and business sources entitled to recycling
collection. There is an approved list. The recycling amounts from these sites is normally
comparable to residential amounts.

Is the successful bidder required to pick-up the day after listed holidays?
A
There are no make-up days in the base contract. There are make-up days in the
alternate proposal.
Q
Who is responsible for solid waste disposal fees?
A
The Township is billed directly by Viola for any tipping fees. The contractor is not
responsible.
Q
Is the successful contractor responsible for flood debris as part of contract?
A
The successful contractor will be relied on to supply containers etc during flood
incidents. This work is outside the contract for weekly collection, and the contractor will
bill separately.
Q
Is the amount to be specified on the alternate bid line an add or a deduct?
A
Bidders should specify on the bid price line the amount to be deducted from the
corresponding bid price line for the base bid. For example if the bidder uses $1,000,000
as the bid price for option A of the base bid, and they anticipate that the cost of 12
months of collection including 4 months at once per week costs $800,000, then they
should put $200,000 on the bid line for alternate contract option A.
