CATHOLIC CERTIFICATE IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES The Diocese of Northampton are running a course for the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies. It consists of six core modules in areas of theology, and two professional modules in possible subjects of Schools, Parish and Working with Young People. The sessions will be held at St Mary Magdalene Primary School, Milton Keynes, over various weekends, running from September 2015 to December 2016. For more information please see Fr John. FIRST COMMUNION CLASSES The classes start on Saturday 19th September for Year A and Year B: both classes now meeting on Saturdays. The First Communion Classes comprise of a two year course, the first year (Year A) for 6 year olds upwards (School Year 2), and the second year (Year B) for 7 year olds upwards (School Year 3). To attend only a few of the first year classes is insufficient for a child to be ready for the second year. So, a good attendance over the two years is essential. The classes run during term time: Year A on Saturdays from 11.00 to 11.45am in the Parish Hall, and Year B on Saturdays from 11.00 to 12 noon, also in the hall. The programme asks you, the parents, to be generous with your time and your commitment so that your child receives maximum benefit from the course. It is a great time to be involved in the parish and the Church, so please make the most of all the opportunities that are offered for you and your child. The lists are available from this weekend at the entrance to church. Please make sure you write all your child’s details clearly on the correct sheet. All those who attended last year’s Year A class should, of course, be signing up for the continuation of the course on the Year B list. Notification of the Parents’ Evenings Meetings will follow. CHEESE AND WINE EVENING Sunday 6th September from 5pm. A fine and dandy early evening gathering to enjoy flavours from across Europe and beyond. Enjoy and indulge in great company and conversation, fine wines, cheeses and condiments of outstanding taste, along with music of an appropriate classic genre. Relax at the end of a great weekend before the challenges of the next week. Tickets will be on sale after Mass from next weekend at £5 per person, to include food and wine at table. Additional quaffs can be purchased throughout the evening. A themed quiz and raffle will add to the ambiance of a perfect late Summer get together.
