Get Involved at Work: There are many ways that you can help fundraise at work. York Theatre Royal has over 200,000 visitors annually and encourages tourism in the area. When your events are complete you send us a picture and your total funds raised and we can show this on our social media as a great goodwill gesture from you. We will provide you all with appropriate informative materials like York Theatre Royal T Shirts, lanyards and collection buckets for events. Here are our top 10 suggestions to help get you started: 1) Cake Sale What is better than a slice of homemade cake? All you have to do is decide when and where you would like to sell your baked goods. Advertise it on flyers or on Facebook and then get selling those lovely cakes. 2) Raffles Raffles are a great way to fundraise whether as a one off or as part of another event. Be careful to follow the guidelines to ensure your raffle is legal. 3) Coffee Morning Everyone likes having a tea break so why not make the most out of it by making it into a coffee morning for one day. Speak to us about props you can use to jazz up your morning. 4) Sponsored Weight Loss We all indulge over the holidays why not set a company weight loss target and see who can be your healthiest employee for a month! 5) Dress Down or Themed Days Pick a day where everyone can choose to dress down (or in costume) for work and set a donation price for taking part. We would be able to help lend your company with costume rentals and props. 6) Bad Hair Days Do a sponsored wax or shave for money or even grown a moustache for a month. Only if you’re brave enough to do something outrageous or a little bit silly in the name of charity! You could even rent wigs from our costume department if you want to do something silly but don’t dare shave your hair. 7) Singing Competition Encourage the office to take part in an X Factor style competition with your colleagues – you could discover some real talent! We can rent out props, costumes, sound and lighting equipment to help with your event if needed. 8) Sponsored Walks These are a great way to keep your office fit and mobile whilst helping encourage charitable giving. Talk to our wardrobe department if you would like to rent costumes whilst completing your walks. 9) Promise Auction Get your co-workers to donate items or their skills to be bid on for an auction. The promises could be as simple as being a chauffeur for an afternoon or a few hours of gardening. The Theatre can help with sound and lighting equipment rentals. You could even use our DeGrey rooms as a wonderful venue for your event. 10) Matched Giving Ask your employers to be generous and match whatever money you help fundraise for a month. It’s a really easy way to increase your donations.
