Oceanside Country Club 75 N Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach, FL 32176 November 20, 2015 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dear AFP Friends, On Friday, November 20, 2015 the Association of Fundraising Professionals Volusia/Flagler Chapter will join nonprofit organizations around the nation to honor donors and volunteers whose gifts of time, talent and treasure contribute significantly to the success of not-for-profit agencies and make a positive impact in our communities. This year’s Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon celebration will be held at the Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach. The luncheon provides a unique occasion for you and your organization to publicly express your appreciation to those who do so much to enhance philanthropic support in our community. Note: This year, we’ve added a new twist! -- Each organization Champion will automatically be eligible to win the Philanthropist of the Year award. So prepare your nominations to demonstrate why your Champion is the “best of the best.” The Philanthropists of the Year will be announced at the luncheon. Here are some tips to help you prepare a winning entry: 1. Champions are people who donate their time, talent and/or treasure. Champions can be organizations, donors, and/or adult, youth volunteers. Remember, financial donations don’t necessarily outshine gifts of time and talent. Rather a Champion’s gifts are evaluated by the way in which they moved forward your mission in a unique or profound way. 2. Please be concise in preparing your narrative so judges can easily understand why your Champion is deserving of consideration for Philanthropist of the Year award recognition. 3. Don’t forget to send a photograph! Please send high-resolution jpeg format photos. 4. Table Reservation (8 seats) is required with each Champion nomination (see enclosed) 5. Don’t miss the deadline – August 28, 2015. We look forward to seeing you at the 2015 Philanthropist of the Year Award Luncheon.
