Position: Process/Industrial Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: 75k-85k + Bonus up to 8% (2013, 2014 Bonus was 6-8%)
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide leadership and guidance towards the continued pursuit of Lean Manufacturing Principles by
utilizing proven continuous improvement tools and engineering discipline. This position provides an
excellent opportunity to apply talent and proven skills that drive tangible product and process
improvements throughout the facility.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review and recommend product drawing changes for suitability of manufacturing.
· Champion new component launch for assigned products.
· Champion 8D / CAR / PAR for assigned products.
· Champion APQP / PFMEA / PF / CP / Aqua for assigned product families.
· Utilize change management and quality systems to document and update process related changes.
· Develop parameters to monitor process performance and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
· Utilize Six Sigma and/or statistical methodologies to determine and successfully resolve process
variation.
· Determine gauging requirements and inspection methods for assigned products.
· Determine acceptability of non-conforming material when outside of normal process limits.
· Work with suppliers and customers to understand their needs and resolve issues and concerns.
· Take into consideration mistake / error proofing when identifying and modifying processes for current
and new product launch components.
· Champion scrap reduction efforts for assigned products.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)
· Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering or other related technical field; Process or Manufacturing
focus
preferred.
· Five or more years working as a member of an Engineering or Quality group focusing on process
control,
documentation, and problem solving. Experience within powdered metal compaction environment
desired.
· Employment record demonstrating evidence of manufacturing process implementation and
improvement, followed by successful process performance.
· Recognized ability to partner with operations management and to deal effectively with customers and
suppliers on quality issues.
· Proven record demonstrating knowledge of APQP, FMEA, control plans, and process flowcharts.
· Extensive knowledge of continuous improvement, problem-solving, and manufacturing principles
utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
· Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously,
and meet deadlines.
· Self-starter with a high energy level.
· Experienced leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to establish credibility within the organization based on expertise of job function
