Our programs Pick Me Up Happy Mail and Care Packages- I make lots of different personal homemade crafts and cards and mail it to children/adults with serious and chronic illnesses. I also make crafts for siblings and the families if they need a pick me up. I make a variety of crafts. For example, I have made bracelets, to personal teddy bears, foam crafts, wood crafts, sun catchers, seasonal decorations, animal puppets, little totes, canvases, and much more! Each package comes with a one of a kind riccio-pick-me-up card and a guardian angel pins handmade by our cousin Maria Filosa! I can’t wait to keep making different variety of crafts! We also send birthday/holiday surprises. Our purpose is to bring smiles and brighten ones day. Miracles Magazine- This is a seasonal magazine for miracles by miracles. People who are going through or have gone through serious illnesses or injuries submit inspirational stories, poems, quotes, seasonal artwork, writing, activities, jokes, recipes, awareness and more! The magazines are great for people who are in and out of hospitals, have many therapies and doctor’s appointment or who are homebound. This brings joy, inspiration and is great therapy for many of them. Pick Me Up Donation- We will donate money, gift cards, or anything else that a struggling family needs dealing with their chromic medical hardships. My family knows how much an illness or injury can effect financially and we want to help. We will donate to personal accounts, and/or mail them money and whatever they may need. This program is for families with a loved one in a hospital, RMH, or frequently goes to the hospital. Also we will donate to organizations/foundations we feel make a big difference. (ex: dream factory) Sharing the Gift- Sharing the gift is a program where we want to go to different inpatient and outpatient hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers, to share the gift of art, music, dance and writing. We will put on a little show (me and maybe some of my talented friends), and interact with the patients and inspire them to use the arts to express themselves and share their gifts with the world. Caregiver’s retreat- The wish granting organizations are usually for the patients and sometimes the siblings but what about the caregivers? Well, RPMU wants to implement a program that gives deserving caregivers a chance to go out and enjoy themselves for a day doing something they haven’t done, due to caring for their loved ones. Example, going to a spa, going on a date with spouse, getting their hair and nails done, or simply going to a movie; anything our caregivers desire! Raising Awareness- RPMU is about bringing awareness to people of different illnesses/disabilities. We will go to different schools and educate kids on illnesses and disabilities (because many are invisible but people don’t understand) this will be helpful because most young people aren’t aware of various chronic mental and medical illnesses. Amara’s Animal stories of Hope: I have written stories ever since I was a little girl. About 2 years ago when I was at Nationwide Children’s Hospital I wrote my first inspirational animal story. My first and favorite animal story of hope is miracles climb. This book is about a special monkey miracle who never gives up, teaching children to always believe no matter what and their dreams can come true! After miracle’s climb I wrote 5 other animal stories of hope each with a different theme on life. We are working on getting these stories published, getting them out in stores, schools, libraries, as well as doctor’s offices and children’s hospitals! Note: We help a variety of people from babies to adult and their families. Some common types illnesses/injuries that qualify for a program is Autoimmune diseases Birth defects Blood disorders Brain injury (traumatic and non-traumatic) Cancers/tumors Genetic disorders (example Mitochondrial Disease) Heart diseases Neurological Conditions(example stroke) Orthopedic Conditions Stomach conditions (example gastroparesis), Lung diseases (cystic fibrosis ) Rheumatologic and pain disorders (example Rheumatoid Arthritis) Spinal Cord injuries Seizure disorders (example epilepsy) Severe Diabetes Serious surgerys/Transplant Any life changing serious chronic illness/injury qualifies.
