JOB DESCRIPTION FINANCIAL DELEGATION: POSITION TITLE: PORTFOLIO: Technician, Electrical Maintenance and Electronics Academic Services REPORTS TO: ROLES REPORTING TO THIS ONE: Head Teacher, Industrial Technology Location: Nil PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: 1. The main purpose of this job is to assist the teachers and students in working with and performing experiments within the electrical and electronics workshops as an integral part of the instructional process. KEY CHALLENGES: To ensure that the resources available to the programme are sufficient to acquire, maintain and operate the electrical maintenance, electronics and hazard laboratories in an efficient manner. To assist the teachers in the maintenance of the required workshop environment to enable programme delivery and student learning outcomes to be achieved To oversee the operational management of the electrical, electronics and hazard workshops, under the direction of the Head Teacher To set up demonstrations and experiments within electrical and electronics course parameters for teachers and students to use during scheduled teaching sessions To assist students with the appropriate setting up of equipment for their experiments and projects as part of the course To maintain and advise on appropriate health and safety workshop standards as laid down in ADVET HSE Policy To maintain all workshop documentation as current with regards to all workshop operations To manage all electrical and electronics materials, maintain the asset register and advise the Head Teacher on future investment FREEDOM TO ACT: Teachers are accountable to Head Teachers for: teaching and assessing students; developing teaching and assessment resources; maintaining student and course records; and Advising any issues relating to students. document1 KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of two years experience of working within a related and relevant educational environment Experience of workshop technology and best practice Experience and knowledge of electrical installations and electronic circuit diagrams Experience and knowledge of electronic bench software and semantic S7 -300 PLC programming Knowledge of pneumatic process control systems Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills Excellent organization and prioritization skills Ability to speak Arabic language QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 High School Certificate IELTS 5.0 Academic Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University KEY RELATIONSHIPS/INTERACTIONS: Students – to provide quality education outcomes Teachers – to provide support and share resources Head Teachers – to develop resources and provide student results in a timely manner
