Environmental Health and Safety January 7, 2014 Electronic Waste After all of the gifts and electronic upgrades that have occurred over the holiday season many people have older electronics that they want to recycle. The information below will allow you to do just that. Electronic waste includes desktop computers, laptops, cell phones, cameras, telephone, game consoles and more. Reusable Equipment Recycling Equipment Usable electronics can be donated to many charities or organizations that will manage the data and pass your equipment along. These include Salvation Army, Good Will and Share, Inc. Electronics that are not able to be used anymore can be recycled at a number of vendors in the area. These include Empower Up, IMS Electronics and any transfer site. There are also a number of organizations that will repurpose your electronics for use by individuals that need emergency communication means or are trying to get their life back on track. This includes the YWCA cell phone program.
