The positions must provide technical support, coordination and project management on geophysical work programs for exploration and exploitation of assets throughout OK and TX. This position works with geoscience teams to improve and optimize seismic data quality from seismic acquisition, processing and reservoir services efforts. The candidate MUST have G4 Seismic Imaging.
Manage processing of conventional, multi-component and azimuthal 2D & 3D seismic data, with a strong emphasis on land data, to ensure timely and cost effective project completion while providing optimum quality to fulfill the imaging needs of the asset teams
Conduct geophysical analysis to understand and improve seismic imaging; review geophysical objectives for seismic work programs
Optimize the processing of seismic data by utilizing understanding of seismic analysis techniques including
AVO, inversion and reservoir characterization
Work closely with geologist, geophysicist, and other team members to prepare specifications for geophysical work plans to meet technical and financial objectives.
Review and write seismic processing contracts and specifications
Submit tender and bid packages to vendors, evaluate results and recommend vendor to asset teams
Prepare detailed timeline to track progress of projects, assist asset teams in preparing detailed budget for projects, track spending
Document and file all relevant project related information and products
Educate and train technical staff on best seismic processing practices
Provide geophysical support for the seismic acquisition group and be technical resource for asset teams
Disseminate technical knowledge to processing team, sister teams and asset teams
Minimum of BS degree in Geophysics or related discipline, advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years working as a geophysicist in the oil and gas industry, including a minimum of 5 years seismic data processing and interpretation applications experience
In-depth knowledge of seismic signal processing and imaging
Broad geophysical knowledge of seismic acquisition technology and VSP and MicroSeismic acquisition and processing
Strong public speaking, presentation and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skill with the ability and desire to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Proven ability to drive a project to completion and find solutions to problems
High level of computer skills with Microsoft products and Unix, Linux systems
Ability to multitask and prioritize work
