Geophysicist
Geophysical guidance for all drilling operations with emphasis on formation and reservoir
trends and continuity. Team with geology, drilling, reservoir, operations and land to enhance
our approach to a mature area. Bring creativity and leadership to the team. Work with geologist
to tie well data to seismic data for a fully integrated interpretation. Manage the reprocessing of
seismic data utilizing the most current technology to enhance our understanding of the
subsurface with the goal being to add value to our bottom line through risk reduction and
prospect generation and testing.











Generate prospects that will enhance ourportfolio
Risk analysis of projects with an emphasis on risk reduction and return on investment
Utilize geophysical software proficiently to evaluate large volumes of seismic
information
Provide team leadership on projects that can enhance our bottom line
Ability to multitask and prioritize work accordingly
Geophysical analysis with the understanding of when it is appropriate to bring outside
resources to bear on challenging projects
Seismic stratigraphic analysis using the concepts of sequence stratigraphy for both
carbonate and clastic systems
Reservoir characterization through cooperation with engineering and geological
disciplines
Seismic interpretation skills and geophysical workstation capabilities
Mentor other geoscientists
Field crew chief for seismic shoots
Details Specific to this Job:







BS in Geophysical Sciences or closely related disciplines (Physics, Math, Geology),
preferably MS
Prefer work related experience
Computer literate with geophysical application experience (Landmark, Seisvision,
Geoquest, etc)
Team oriented with experience in working with multiple disciplines
Strong public speaking skills with emphasis on prospect presentation
Literate in risk analysis techniques such as Pete Rose methodology
Depending upon experience this position will be filled as an advisor or sr. advisor level
