Last week, on Tuesday morning, the children came in for a few hours to see their teachers, and check out the new classrooms. There were so many new faces! Once the children felt comfortable with school, they went back home to rest up for the first full day. Wednesday started off with a little time in the classroom, followed by the first Chapel of the school year. Seeing all the children sitting in their new assigned seats made them all appear so grown up. I was able to spend the lunch hour with everyone as well. Some of our new Kindergarteners struggled a little, but thanks to Mrs. MacDougall, tears dried quickly. Sophia, one of our new friends, confided in me enthusiastically, “Don’t tell anyone, but Mrs. MacDougall doesn’t know her COLORS!” It’s a good thing Sophia is with us this year to straighten her out! This past week, both Pre-K classes began. The “littles” (as the teachers call them) are just as adorable as ever. It was wonderful to see all the big eyes, nervous faces, eager smiles (parents and children alike!) Miss Brose had her four year olds in Chapel on the second day! This week, we were super busy with our grand re-opening! The children purchased their breakfast, and hung out with friends while parents chatted and music streamed in the background. As usual, the PTL tries to provide healthy foods, and I am happy to report that we actually sold out of bananas! The Cub Café is back in business! The rooms have been switched around a little, and Miss Brose’s room for the Pre-K 4 program is huge! It’s a good thing it’s so big, because she has over 20 children already, with more still interested in joining us. We are also pleased to welcome Stephanie Schultz as our full time assistant with Miss Brose. She has already proven to be a wonderful help. If you have a chance, take a walk through the school.
