This Week at Immanuel Lutheran School

There are mice in Pre-K!!! Well, Miss Brose bought two and they are pets for the children, but I did recently use those exact words to tell a prospective student about the new pets, and judging by the way the boys' eyes popped almost out of his head, I knew I had chosen my language poorly!

The children in Pre-K have been working hard all year to prove to Miss Brose that they are responsible enough to have a real pet in the classroom. Apparently, the stuffed dog, Ralphie, wasn't fun enough. The students spent some time discussing names, it was a very serious matter. They finally settle on

Sophia and Snow White (wisely, Miss Brose selected two females). I spoke with some of the children today about their new friends. Here is what they had to say:

Joshua - "I like them. They are fun to watch"

Ian - "They are new!"

Janessa - "We like having real pets, they are funnier than

Ralphie"

Delaney - "We get to pet them and then we use hand sanitizer"

Speaking of Delaney, we had a new friend come and preview the class this morning. Delaney Tonner was quite the hostess!

She walked right up to the new girl, took her hand and said "Hi,

I'm Delaney. Want me to show you our room?" She then proceeded to introduce the new friend to the children, showed her around the room, and made sure she was enjoying herself.

She was the perfect example of an Immanuel student.

As the new student and I were walking out, a little girl named

Ella stopped us. "Are we getting another new friend? There sure are a lot of them lately! I love getting new friends!"

Spend some time with the school, it's a wonderful place to be!
