Grand March: Information for students
 Students are to park in the parking lot adjacent to the football field when you arrive for Grand March. The
busses will drop off in the back of the school after the prom.
 No student(s) will be permitted to exit the building until the boarding of the busses. (No exceptions)
 Students need to report to the high school cafeteria at their designated picture time.
 You do not need to bring prom tickets to the Grand March.
 Please check-in with the prom pages at the table in the cafeteria to receive your name cards. Numbers on the
name cards will indicate your order and designated side in the Grand March line. All even numbers will enter from
the left side of the stage and proceed down the right center aisle of the auditorium. All odd numbers will enter
from the right side of the stage and proceed down the left center aisle of the auditorium.
 Do not destroy the name cards. These cards will be read by the Master of Ceremonies.
 Pictures will be taken at the high school in the cafeteria. No pictures will be taken at Shadow Lakes. Pictures
will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Make sure you check the list to be aware of your time. This
information is also posted on the school website.
 All students and/or their belongings will be searched before he/she enters the bus.
 All students will ride the busses to Shadow Lakes and back to CVHS. Students will board their assigned bus
immediately after participating in the Grand March and being searched.
Grand March: Information for parents/guardians
 The auditorium doors will open at 5:30 pm. $1.00 Admission for Grand March (parents, family and friends).
 Due to the number of students attending the 2014 prom this year, we will have seating available in both the high
school auditorium and gymnasium.
 The students will first be introduced in the auditorium and they will then promenade through the gymnasium and
will be re-introduced in the gymnasium.
 Please remember that there are no reserved seats (with the exception of the Prom Court) as it is simply on a
first come, first serve basis.
Shadow Lakes information:
 All school policies will be in effect for the entire evening (Grand March, Reception, Prom and bus rides).
 Students are not permitted to change in to informal clothing at any time during the prom. This includes the
wearing of t-shirts, sweats, tennis shoes, etc. Students may bring slippers, but may not walk in bare feet during
the evening. This is a formal event sponsored by the school and the dress must reflect that standard.
 No early releases from Shadow Lakes (you must stay for the entire evening).
 No backpacks are permitted in the banquet hall.
 Medication (Rx prescription bottles, pre-packaged over-the-counter medicine, Tylenol, Advil, etc) must be
accompanied by a note including a contact phone number of a parent/guardian.
 Any personal items left at the prom will be taken back to the school and placed in the lost and found in the high
school office. Any flowers left at the prom will be thrown away.
 Please remember that we are guests of Shadow Lakes.
 Approximate time of return to Central Valley High School will be around 1:30 a.m.
 Should your child be found in the possession of or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs at any time while
under the supervision of school authorities, the police on duty will be notified. You will be called by the prom
sponsor and be expected to immediately escort your child home. In addition, the student will be disciplined
according to the Central Valley School District Policy. Please be aware that smoking in all areas of Shadow Lakes
will be strictly prohibited. This is in accordance with the Central Valley School District Policy.
In closing, it is our hope that your child experiences an enjoyable and memorable prom.
