Justification for proposal: Adding two courses. 310W adds a writing course to the photography department for the first time as we had to require students to go to other departments in order to attend writing courses. This will help the department retain students and give us a dedicated writing course. Major writing components only exist in our PHO 101 course. The second course, PHO 110 Effective Fall 2015 gives us a discussion course where students can engage with professional guest speakers, which will help them explore their life after school and career development. In addition, students will analyze and critique portfolios, as well as discuss issues in contemporary photography. 9. Will this proposal impact other plans, sub plans, or course offerings, etc.?
