Wandilo Swamps Cultural Excursion on Thursday 9th July 2015 with Ken Jones Arrive at Pangula before 9am Bus leaves at 9:10am and returns at 2:30pm to Pangula Please wear warm clothes, good walking shoes, hats and warm dry coats as we will be walking outside in the bush NAIDOC Week 2015 5-12th July, We All Stand on Sacred Ground: Learn, Respect & Celebrate On Thursday 9th July we visit Aboriginal Heritage Midden sites and learn about how these local Boandik people lived in harmony and caring for Country. We will also experience some stone chipping areas and other significant places of interest. Discussions about cultural sites, trees, freshwater soak, art, traditional food gathering and medicinal plant areas. Some native foods will be displayed and identified. Sharing stories of the old days, the Swamp gum forest, Bittens, Brolgas and Bunyips, the legends, songs, Ceremony and Living on Country around the campfire sharing billy tea and damper.
