Thank you so much for sending in all the food for our holiday food drive! We are thrilled
to be able to help so many needy families this year. Our class alone brought in close to
400 food items—wow!!!
Please make sure your child continues to practice math facts as part of his or her
homework routine. We will continue to take timed tests in class about every two
weeks. Use Go Math games, Math Facts in a Flash or any other math app or
flashcards your child enjoys. If you have misplaced the log-in information for any of
these sites, let me know and I will send another copy. I will begin marking students’
progress toward math fact mastery on the 2nd quarter report cards in January.
Don’t forget to send in your Night in Green donation for our class basket. Our class
theme is “Family Game Night”. Contact Michelle Dennett for more info!
We are wrapping up the second unit of our Religion books right now. We will have the
Unit 2 test next Thursday 12/18. Please review the information with your child at home
in preparation for the test.
We are finishing up Chapter 5 in math and will be ready for a test on these concepts
sometime next week as well.
We really enjoyed having a guest author work with us all week. Alan St. Jean shared
his wonderful books with us and helped us do a Writing Olympics school-wide activity.
The first grade collaborative story won the gold medal!!! 
