invites you to the Ocean County Holy Hour for
Vocations on Wednesday, October 28, from 7
to 8 p.m.. The Holy Hour, which will be held at

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ~ TRENTON
COUNCIL #355
The Trenton Council #355 of the K of C will be
conducting a pro-life, label rose applique
(sticky rose) sale at our parish on the weekend
of October 3rd and 4th , before and after all the
masses. Please be supportive of this worthy
cause.
ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY MEETING
The Divine Mercy Altar Rosary Society will
gather on Sunday, October 4th at the 8:30 a.m.
Mass. The rosary will be prayed before Mass
and a meeting will take place at the parish
office following Mass. A warm welcome is
extended to anyone wishing to join the Altar
Rosary Society—come and see the good that
the Rosarians do for our parish community.
HOLY NAME SOCIETY
The monthly meeting of the DM Holy Name
Society Will be held on Friday, October 9th at
7:00 pm at Felician House. All members are
encouraged to Attend. New or prospective
members are also welcome. Refreshments will
be served after the regular Business Meeting.
The Corporate Communion will be held on
Sunday, October 11 at the 8:30 a.m. mass.
The Holy Name Society would also like to
thank all those who participated and attended
the Holy Name Nite at Trenton Thunder in
August. This annual event has been held over
the past 5 years and we always have a great
time at the game and get to enjoy good food,
fellowship with friends and family and
fireworks!
HEARTFELT THANKS

Knights of Columbus Central New Jersey
Centennial Chapter of $1000.00 in memory of
Charles Cook, Jr. for Mercy House. We are so
grateful to the Knights for thinking about the
poor and less fortunate in our area and are

PILGRIMAGE
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. invites all the
faithful of the diocese to journey with him on
pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National
Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception in
Washington, DC, on Saturday, November 7. A
bus will leave Our Lady of Sorrows parking lot
at 7:00 a.m., so please arrive no later than 6:45
a.m. We should arrive back in Mercerville
around 8:30 or 9:00 p.m.. You may bring a bag
lunch or buy lunch in the Shrine’s cafeteria. We
will have a rest stop on the way down, and stop
for dinner on the way home. The cost of the trip
is $25 per person. Please make check payable
to OLS-SA and indicate on your check
“National Shrine Pilgrimage.” Please drop it off
at the OLS St Anthony parish office no later
than Monday, October 26. For additional

Who They Are, Why We Need Them
Join us on Saturday, October 10th at
Immaculata University, from 1 PM – 4 PM, to
learn about the newest generation of Catholic
Sisters and why we need them now more than
ever. Hear remarkable stories from these
women who have answered The Call. This
event will feature several young sisters, along
with the authors of New Generations of
Catholic Sisters: The Challenge of Diversity.
There will be a Q & A session and raffle after
the main presentation. Refreshments will be
served. This event is sponsored by the
National Religious Vocation Conference. This
is an excellent chance to generate support for
Catholic sisters now and in the future. Please

Retreats at Maris Stella
Maris Stella Retreat Center in Harvey Cedars (on Long
Beach Island) offers you a choice of a Silent Directed or
Private Retreat beginning on Sunday, October 18, and
ending on Saturday, October 24. The directed retreat is
for those who wish time in quiet prayer and reflection
and to meet each day with a spiritual director. The
private retreat is for those who wish to pursue their

Adult Faith Formation Opportunity
Laudati Si—On the Care of Our Common Home
Come and join with others, at the request of Pope
Francis, to study and pray with his new encyclical letter,
Laudato Si, which takes its name from the invocation of
St. Francis (“Praise to you, my Lord”). This study group,
led Fr. Vince Gartland. The group will meet on Monday
evenings September 28, October 12 and 26, December
7, March 14 and 28, and April 11 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
at the Church of Saint Ann. The event is free and open
to the public. Participants will purchase their own copy of
the encyclical. All sessions are at the Church of Saint
Ann (1253 Lawrence Road Lawrenceville). For more

A Retreat for Those Facing Serious Illness
Gennesaret, a retreat designed to provide a spiritual and
temporal oasis for men and women suffering with a life
changing illness, will be held the weekend of October
16-18 at the Archdiocesan Retreat Center, located in
Kearny. The retreat will begin on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and
end with a closing prayer service Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
The retreats, held in a setting that allows time for rest
and quiet, offer a respite from the daily coping with a
serious illness and a focus on God's love, forgiveness
and faithfulness. On staff are medical personnel, spiritual
directors, and a caring team of helpers to assist
retreatants. There is no cost to you for the retreat. For
