TESTS AND QUIZ GRADES:
Major tests will be given with a minimum of one-week notice. Quizzes may be given at any
time. Tests will be worth approximately one hundred points. Quizzes will be worth ten to fifty
points. Written assignments and project point values will vary according to length of topic.
CLASSWORK AND HOMEWORK:
Students are expected to participate and complete all classroom assignments. Homework assignments
will be checked for completion or collected at the beginning of class. Assignments are considered late
if handed in any time after the beginning of class. Late assignments will lose 10% per day late.
Assignments may be turned in late for partial credit no later than two days past the due date.
NOTEBOOK:
Each student will be required to maintain a notebook. The student must have a notebook in which
papers can fasten to the center of the notebook. Notebooks will be checked and graded periodically
and occasionally used for quizzes. It is the student’s responsibility to have his or her notebook for
every class.
ATTENDANCE:
Students are expected to attend class every day. If an absence is anticipated, please notify the teacher
early enough to receive assignments ahead of time. If the absence is not anticipated, it is your
responsibility to check with the teacher for missed work.
Students have one day for each day they are absent to make up the work and turn it in. It is the
student’s responsibility to ask the teacher what he/she missed while he/she was absent. If a student is
absent the day of a test or quiz, it must be made up during the next class period. In the case of
extended absences, testing arrangements will be made between the teacher and the student.
FACTORS USED IN THE DETERMINATION OF THE QUARTERLY GRADES INCLUDE:
Grades will be based on scores earned on classroom assignments and activities, projects, quizzes, tests,
homework, and class participation. Letter grades will be assigned each marking period. Grades will be
based on the number of points earned for the marking period. Final marking period grades will be
determined by dividing the number of points earned by the total possible points.
