Students who complete the Newman
University Respiratory Care Program
(RC) will be awarded the Associate of
Science in Health Science (A.S.H.S.)
Degree. Students must apply and be accepted into the RC Program. The RC
Program begins in the fall. Applications are accepted Feb. 1 st through March
15 th for the succeeding fall .

Requirements
This associate degree requires
1. a minimum of 62 cr. hours,
2. 15 resident hours,
3. cumulative GPA of 2.0,
4. completion of Intermediate Algebra or any math course that has Intermediate
Algebra as a prerequisite,
5. satisfactory completion of the following General Education
Requirements:
Philosophy 3 credit hours
(Ethics is recommended.)
Speech 3 credit hours
Theology 3 credit hours
Writing 3 credit hours
(EN101 English Comp I)
6. satisfactory completion of
BI 103 Anatomy & Physiology, and C H
101 General Chemistry OR
PY 112 General Physics I.
