House player evaluations
Dear Coach,
In an effort to best flight our soccer players correctly for the following year, and in an
effort to select players for the Coach’s Invitational November 12th and 13th we would
appreciate your feedback and evaluation in the following way.
You will need to produce a written roster of your team to include:
1) Players name
2) Date of Birth
3) Rating in one of three categories only A,B or C
Category A:
The top 3 best soccer players on your roster
Category C:
The 3 players who need the most development and / or coaching to improve.
Category B:
The remaining players on your roster, who do not fall into the top 3 or most
developmental 3.
Please highlight your own child separately and accurately evaluate them as A, B or C
(This player can be the 4th player in A or C category or a B)
If this evaluation is not provided by the end of the season all players on your roster will
be categorized as group C and flighted accordingly.
Once our initial flighting process has been concluded we will look for input from certain
key individuals within that age group to get the teams as evenly balanced as possible.
Of course there is no exact science in soccer for correctly evaluating a soccer player
from one season until the next. As our recreational season finishes in November and
starts again the following August players have a full 8 months to grow and develop into
a better soccer player.
The evaluation process above is proven to work in many other organizations and whilst
we are aware of many other ways to categorize and evaluate this is how we will
proceed this season.

We need the U6, U7, and U16 ratings by the end of the season. We need all others by
October 28, 2013. The reason we need all others by October 28, 2013, is because we
need to select players for the Coach’s Invitational being held on November 12th and
13th. We need time for notification and practices before the event. For those of you
who do not get us the player ratings by October 28, 2013, we will simply bypass your
team and select additional players from other teams. I sincerely hope that does not
happen, which is why I am sending this out to the entire League. Lastly, since a few of
you are not happy with multiple requests and reminders, this will be the last notification
on this subject. Thank you very much for your time and consideration with this request.
