Local Junior Wins Scone Open.
Another of the young Scone Golfers Matt O’Donnell, took our the 2013 Scone Open
Championship on Sunday with a round of 76 and took home the A.G.White Cup. Matt won on a
countback from Cameron Norman with a larger group of golfers on 77.
Red Palmer won the Stableford event with 44 points to win the Bob Robb Cup from Ray
Weeks on 40.
In the nett the A Grade went to Phil McGuirk 39 points, the B Grade to Tim Smith 38 and C
Grade to Andy Phelps also on 38.
On Saturday the Hunter Valley Printing Cup for Mixed was won by Ross and Lyn Banks
with 34 points.
Many thanks to all the helpers on the day, the Ladies who started the field so well, the drink
sellers, Les Cottam for his usual great job with the scoreboard, the card checkers plus the Kitchen
staff who did a great job in feeding the multitude. Well done by all.
