Waihi Ladies golf report 9 November 2011 Miracles sometimes happen even on a golf course. At the Waihi Ladies Open Xmas tournament held on Wednesday 9 November, Waihi’s Zoe Tasma performed one of the most extraordinary shots ever witnessed at Waihi. With a mighty hook from the 18th tee, her ball went whizzing towards the road and the farm opposite, hit a lamp post over the fence, and ricocheted back on to the course on the far side of the fairway and was able to finish the hole with a five, finishing her round with a top gross score of 82 off the stick! The 72 players in the field, from 12 outlying Clubs, had a most enjoyable day in great weather, after a drizzly start, on a course groomed to perfection.
