Boys: white, short-sleeved, button-down shirts with dark shorts and suspenders. Mr. Rye—The town baker. Dark pants and a solid color, long-sleeved shirt. White apron and baker’s hat if possible. Dress shoes. Miss Lilyspoon—The town librarian. Conservative, high collar blouse and a long skirt. Could wear glasses. Constable Blarney—Town policeman. Dark pants and dark jacket. Dark dress shoes. Large police badge pinned to jacket. Carries whistle (this is a definite) and billy club (if possible). Miss Finney—Town banker. High collar blouse and a long skirt. Could carry a ledger and pencil. Mr. Ram—Wears a white, long-sleeved shirt with sleeves rolled up and dark pants with suspenders. Dark shoes or working boots. Mrs. Pickle—Frazzled. Long, slightly disheveled dress or skirt and blouse. Hair could be a little messy Mr. Ripple—Very proper. Wears a brown or tan jacket (elbow patches?) over a white shirt with a colorful billowy tie (ascot) and dark pants. Dress shoes. Mrs. Nob—A leader. Long dress or long skirt and blouse. Mr. Teal—quite intelligent. White, long-sleeved shirt, dark pants with suspenders, and a bow tie. Wirerimmed glasses optional. Dress shoes. Mrs. Krinkle—Bubbly. Wears a colorful dress or skirt and blouse. Mayor Dumphreys—The town mayor. Conservatively dressed. Suit, long dress, or long skirt with blouse. Pennywinkle—Methodical, book-keeper. Dark pants and button down shirt. Could add suspenders or a jacket. Dress shoes. Quigley—timid, “yes man.” Dressed as a townsperson—khaki or dark bottoms with a button-down shirt. Could add blazer or suspenders. Dress shoes. Pied Piper—white peasant shirt, cape of many bright colors, Robin Hood-style hat, tights/leggings All Rats (sneaky, singing, speaking)—gray sweats, headband with construction paper ears. Use make-up (eyeyliner) to blacken nose and apply whiskers. Thick braids of yarn for a tail pinned to pants. White gloves optional. Dancers—see town children costume above.
