Description of Business Environment:
Lockheed Martin UK Mission Systems and Training, Logistics and Training (LMUK MSTLT) operates the UK and European markets for its parent LM MST, based in Orlando,
Florida and Bethesda, Maryland, USA. LMUK MST-LT is located in two main sites in the
UK, Farnborough and Warminster; with other staff located in Anglesey, Cheltenham,
Bristol and Germany.
The diverse range of products, services and capabilities LMUK MST can provide and be
simply summarised as "training and logistics products and services". In more detail, the
training product line consists of systems that cover the complete range between CBT
(Computer-based-training) through to high-fidelity, full-mission simulators. These can be
applied across all military domains but also have civilian applications. The logistic
products range include aircraft ground support equipment, automatic test equipment,
HUMS and logistic support software again, widely applicable across multiple
applications and domains. All these products can be supplied with tailored managedservice contracts to provide a delivery of a comprehensive training and logistics
capability.
LMUK MST-LT currently has 10 programmes active in the UK and Middle East and is
currently pursuing exciting opportunities across Europe and the Middle East. MST-LT
provides the full range of commercial, financial, quality, software and hardware
development, integration, test and support capabilities and in-service support required
by our programmes. The company is currently entering a period of significant growth.
Governance Reports directly to Managing Director
Specific Job Description:
 Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing,
control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned
responsibility.
 Responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training,
performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary
actions.
 Plans and formulates engineering programme and organises project staff according
to requirements.














Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project. Coordinates
activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving
engineering design and test problems.
Provides guidance to employees, peers, customers and stakeholders based on
organisational goals and company policy.
Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect organisational units.
Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organisational policies.
Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the
organisation.
Frequent contacts with equivalent level managers, industry peers, and customer
representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, technical activities,
schedules, contractual issues, and general overall performance of organisational
unit(s).
Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
Responsible for all assigned projects to organisational unit.
Acts as advisor to managers or staff members.
Focuses on directing organisation to meet critical schedules, resolve critical/complex
technical or operational problems.
Directly participates in establishing and administering many projects and
assignments.
Develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance standards.
Accomplishes results through managers and/or associate managers, or senior level
exempt professionals.
Subject to approval, modifies the organisational structure of assigned central or
programme units.
Required Skills:
Typical Minimums: Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent
experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training
commensurate with assignment.
