Millikan Experiment Lab (SPH 4U1)
You should select to use beads (m=1x10-15kg) and the real value of e. You can use a 20x speed
value if you wish to speed up the experiment. Turn on the power supply and start a new droplet.
Adjust the voltage difference (coarse at first and then fine) until the droplet is balanced. Use this
potential difference and mass to calculate the value of the charge. Repeat MANY times to get
values that can be analysed to find a lowest common increment.
Write a report that describes your technique and strategies for solving the problem, as though you
are writing a short scientific paper for publication.
