授業の目標 Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to understand the degradation of materials due to a high-temperature oxidation and corrosion. Students will learn and understand the mechanism of high-temperature oxidation of pureelement and alloys.

1. Understanding the fundamental of high-temperature oxidation based on thermodynamics and kinetics of materials.

2. Understanding high-temperature oxidation mechanism of Pure-materilas and alloys.

3. Understanding the degradation behavior of materials under the mixed gas environments at hightemperaures.

授業計画 Course Schedule

1. Chemical composition of high-temperature materials and the example of high-temperaure oxidation and corrosion. (1 week)

2. Oxidation mechanism I (3 weeks) : Oxidation of Pure-materials

3. Oxidation mechanism II (3 weeks) : Oxidation of alloy, internal oxidation

4. High-temperature corrosion (1 week) : Corrosion behavior of materials under the aggressive environments.

準備学習(予習・復習)等の内容と分量 Homework

Having a basis of materials science, such as thermodynamics, diffusion, phase transformation, phase equilibria, and phase diagram, is strongly requested to join this course.

成績評価の基準と方法 Grading System

Based on reports (2 times).
