Battery Recycling:
There are many ways you can recycle waste batteries throughout County Mayo.
Batteries contain hazardous materials and should never be placed in your wheelie bin.




Batteries can be dropped off at any battery retailer who sells batteries of a similar type. Look
out for the blue battery box in your local shop.
Batteries can be dropped off at WEEE Ireland electrical recycling events held annually
throughout the County.
Many communities have availed of the WEEE Ireland recycling cage for collection of batteries
and electrical items locally.
Batteries can be dropped off at Mayo County Council offices on the Mall in Castlebar or at either
of Mayo County Council’s Civic Amenity Centres – Derrinumera and Rathroeen.
