IRELAND - FUND CHANGES AND NEW COVERAGE
Effective from 30th March 2014 Thomson Reuters Datastream will source Irish Fund content from
Lipper.
Lipper are a Thomson Reuters company, and a global leader in supplying fund information,
analytical tools, and commentary.
Datastream will continue to support the following data items;

Fund Name
Fund Domicile
Fund Classification (Mutual Funds, Hedge Funds, Insurance Funds or Pension Fund)
Symbology (ISIN & SEDOL)
Net Asset Value – stored in time series data type ‘P’
Dividends
Corporate Actions
Clients should be aware of the following changes;
Classification
Datastream will no longer classify Irish funds as ‘Offshore’ funds, but will align the INDG, INDM
and INDC data types with Lipper’s Asset Universe classification. Irish funds will now be classified
as one of the following four classifications;
 Mutual Funds
 Hedge Funds
 Insurance Funds
 Pension Funds.
New Coverage
Implementing Lipper as the source for Irish fund content represents the opportunity to publish
additional fund coverage on Datastream.
Approximately 4400 new Irish funds will be supported on Datastream post implementation- see
attached. Full Lipper NAV time series and Dividend histories will be available

Fund Currency Changes
Please see attached a list of funds that will be issued with a new Datastream code post migration.
Lipper support these funds in alternative currencies to Datastream, the new Datastream codes
will be appended to this notification on the 9th February.
The new fund codes will created with Lipper NAV and Dividend histories.
Also attached are funds that will be recreated in Datastream due inaccuracies with the existing
data.

Datastream Lists
Datastream will be creating new lists based on Lipper’s Asset Universe classification. The Irish
fund lists are as follows;

Navigation
Where available the ISIN and SEDOL will be stored for each fund, in addition Datastream will also
be storing the Lipper ID to every fund record to improve navigation and fund identification.
The Lipper ID is functional on Datastream by applying an ‘LP’ prefix, for example Lipper ID
68191565 = LP68191565.
To retrieve the Lipper ID for a fund please use the data type ‘LPID’.
Discontinued Funds
The attached list of funds will be discontinued. The majority are private funds, for which the Fund
Management Company have requested Lipper not to publish information. The status of these
funds will be set to ‘Suspended’ post implementation.

Dividend Entitlements
Datastream has identified Dividend Entitlement historical errors for the attached list of funds, as a
consequence the histories will be replaced with Lipper dividends, effective 30/03/14.

Annualised DPS and Yield
Annualised DPS and Yield will be discontinued and existing histories purged, Annualised DPS is not
available in Lipper.
