Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Happy Mother's Day to all of our wonderful moms. I hope you have a special day on Sunday spending time with your families.
City of Irvine Safe Routes to School Program Parent Survey
The City of Irvine is requesting your assistance in completing a
Parent Survey. The survey is a requirement of the Federal Safe
Routes to School Grant program. Irvine sponsors our Walk to
School Wednesday program. Please return the Parent Survey to your child's teacher by May 19, 2014.
3 rd & 4 th Grade SBAC Pilot Assessment is Complete
Students did an excellent job in adapting to the computer generated standardized assessment, SBAC. Since this is a pilot year with the SBAC testing, there will be no individual or school site results.
Classroom Disruptions
In order to minimized disruptions of academic instruction, we will not be making calls to the classrooms to notify students of a lunch in the office. If you need to bring lunch, sweaters, homework, etc. to your student, please discuss this with them before the school day begins. Even as we near the end of the school year, every educational minute matters!
Sincerely,

As is the case with most of our special events at Hicks, its success requires help from our parent volunteers.
We need help with this event, PLEASE!
The majority of our help is needed for set-up about one hour before the event: hanging decorations, setting out folding chairs, arranging the refreshment tables, etc. Help will also be needed at the refreshment table during the dance, and there is a small amount of clean-up at the end of the dance.
Email Danielle if you can volunteer/help: Pinkpoodles@cox.net
