This coming half term we will continue to commend the efforts of pupils and uphold the school’s firm
expectation that everyone comes to school ready for their learning journey. Our new topic will be ‘Out of this
World’, which we are confident will inspire the children to create some more amazing writing and other crosscurricular work.
We have sent home a reading paper for you to look at with your child. Please feel free to make notes and
write down any answers that you have discussed on the question/answer booklet. We would like these returned to
school by January 8th 2015 so that we can work through them together in school. Improving the children’s mental
arithmetic skills will continue to be a focus during the Spring Term, so encouraging them to practice times tables and
related facts regularly will prove hugely beneficial.
If your child has not booked a place on the Year 6 residential there is still some availability, so please let us
know as soon as possible if you would like them to participate.
Finally may we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support during a long but rewarding
term. We hope you have a restful Christmas break and look forward to working in partnership with you again in 2015.
Yours sincerely
The Year 6 Team
